The status of a survivor's health is measured in colored circles below the survivor's name. There are four stages in total.
- Healthy - Four green circles.
- Stable - Three green circles.
- Serious - One red circle and one yellow circle.
- Critical - One red circle.
As a survivor's health drops, his or her combat ability also drops, rendering the survivor more likely to suffer further injury.
A critically injured survivor who suffers further damage will die. Permanently.
Healing
An injured survivor should rest in a safehouse to regain health. By default, it takes 4 hours for a survivor's condition to improve by one stage(Critical > Serious > Stable > Healthy). Therefore, a critically injured survivor needs to rest for 12 hours before he or she is fully healed.
If a survivor is inside a Safehouse equipped with an Infirmary, it only takes 3 hours for the survivor's condition to improve by one stage.
Hiding also lets a survivor heal at the normal rate, although Fatigue and Fear do not diminish as they would in a safehouse.
One stage of injury can be immediately healed by using Morphine which can be purchased with NECRA Credits.
If a character is actively defending a Player Created Safehouse rather than resting inside one, the time to heal one stage is doubled.
A character's health will not regenerate if the squad is moving or traveling to a different area. You must be in a NECRA Safehouse or a User Safehouse.
